WIZZ AIR CLUJ-NAPOCA MARATHON 2025 | EDITION 14
1. GENERAL
1.1. These rules apply to participants in the "Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon" event.
1.2. The organizer of the event is Runners Club Events and the Runners Club Association.
1.3. The "Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon" event will take place between April 5-6, 2025.
1.4. The Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon races are open to all interested parties, respecting the conditions imposed by the organizer.
1.5. The registration of participants is made by online registration on the www.maraton-cluj.ro website
By registering and participating in this event, participants agree to comply with and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Regulations and the legislation in force applicable on the date of the event.
Runners Club Events and Runners Club reserve the right to amend these Regulations, depending on the changes made at the legislative level, including by introducing additional restrictions regarding registration and participation in the event, if the situation existing on the date of the event requires it.
1.6. By signing the registration form or ticking the appropriate box during the online registration, each participant:
– declares that he/she accepts, understands and agrees with the terms and conditions of participation in the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, as well as the competition regulations;
– declares that he/she has read and agrees with the Privacy Policy regarding the processing by Runners Club Events and the CS Runners Club Association of personal data, including regarding the processing of the photo and video image used in the promotional materials of the event;
– declares on his/her own responsibility that the data filled in are real and that the person is physically fit to participate in the competition according to the conditions of this Regulation;
1.7. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse the registration and participation in the race, for objective reasons.
1.8. Online registrations are made until March 16; validations will be made between March 16-18. After these dates, the invalidated registrations will be canceled.

2. DECLARATION ON OWN RESPONSIBILITY
2.1. Participation in the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon is done on your own responsibility, in full knowledge of your ability to participate in the event, your physical and mental health. The participant must be 16 years old on the date of the event.
2.2. By filling in and sending the registration form, the person who fills in the form declares on his/her own responsibility and assumes that the data filled in are real.
2.3 By filling in and sending the registration form , the person who fills in the form agrees that Runners Club Events and Runners Club may collect and process his/her personal data (name, surname, e-mail address) on the territory of Romania, directly and/or through his/her proxies and/or contractual partners in order to participate in the promotional and information campaigns carried out by Runners Club Events and Runners Club, for the purpose of promoting events organized or co-organized by Runners Club and Runners Club Events.
2.4. If the registration form is completed by a person other than the participant in the event, the person who completes and submits the registration form assumes responsibility for the veracity of the data filled in and assumes full responsibility for having the participant's consent for his/her registration for the event. The participant in the event for whom the registration was made by another person, is responsible for the correctness of the data filled in and that he/she meets the conditions required to participate in the event.
2.5. By filling in and sending the registration form and accepting the Competition Rules, the participant assumes on his/her own responsibility that he/she is clinically healthy and that he/she does not suffer from any condition that prohibits him/her from participating in the event or jeopardizes his/her health during the event and assumes full responsibility for participating in the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon.
2.6. By filling in and sending the registration form and accepting the Regulations, the person declares that he/she has fully understood what participation in such a competition represents, whose route involves/may involve road traffic during it.
2.7. By filling in and sending the registration form and accepting the Regulations, the participant in the event declares on his/her own responsibility that he/she is in a suitable form to participate in an endurance competition, such as Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, so that the organizers, as well as anyone related to them (sponsors, partners, employees, authorities, officials, volunteers, etc.) are exonerated from any liability in relation to any claims of the participants and or successors, of any nature, for possible injuries, illness, death or any other medical problems that may arise during the course of the competition.
2.8. By filling in and sending the registration form and accepting the Regulations, the participant in the event declares on his/her own responsibility that in the event that events such as those described above occur during the competition, he/she will bear all the expenses incurred by the transport to a specialized medical unit and declares that he/she waives any claim in connection with such transport and/or emergency treatment, delays or deficiencies in relation to it.
2.9. By filling in and sending the registration form and accepting the Regulations, the participant in the event certifies that he/she has understood and accepted the measures imposed by the Organizer for the development of the event and accepts the risks of participating in a mass event.
2.10. If the registration form is completed and submitted by a person other than the participant in the event, by filling in and sending the form it is considered that the participant in the event has given his/her consent to registration and that he/she has accepted that he/she meets all the conditions for participation provided in this section and these Regulations.
2.11. Each participant is responsible for his own security and safety. The organizers, partners, sponsors, volunteers and staff participating in the organization of the event are not responsible for any kind of injury, death or damage of any nature that may occur during or as a result of the event.
2.12. It is recommended that participants have accident insurance, valid for sports competitions.
2.13. Participants have the obligation to listen to and respect the indications/instructions of the organizer and the competition staff.
2.14. Regarding the participation of minor children in the event, by filling in and sending the registration form, the parents or legal guardians of the minor child declare on their own responsibility that they agree with the participation of the minor child in the competition.
2.15. The parents or legal guardians of the minor child registered in the competition declare on their own responsibility that they have been informed about the risks involved in the participation of the minor child in the event and that they assume full responsibility in the event of an accident occurring during the event. The organizers, as well as anyone related to them (sponsors, partners, employees, authorities, officials, volunteers, etc.) are exonerated from any liability in relation to any claims of the participants, their legal guardians and/or their successors, of any nature, for any injury, illness, death or any other medical problems that may arise during the course of the competition.
2.16. The parents or legal guardians of the minor child registered in the competition declare on their own responsibility that the data filled in the registration form are real, that the minor they represent is medically fit to participate in the race for which they have been registered, that the minor they represent has the physical training, adequate mental and technical skills to participate in the race for which he was enrolled; that he/she has become aware of the legal implications of the participation of the minor he/she represents in the event and assumes full responsibility, in the event that my child/the minor he/she represents is involved in an accident.
3. PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fee ensures the right to attend the event. The fee is composed of operational expenses for registration in the database of participants, validation, BIB number assignment, timing and event organization service, medal on arrival, medical assistance.
3.1. The participation fee can be paid online or by bank transfer.
3.2. Online registrations open on the date and time mentioned by the organizer on the website of the www.maraton-cluj.ro event.

3.4 Please note! Failure to pay the fee within five working days from the registration leads to the cancellation of the registration, with the possibility of a subsequent registration.
3.5. In case of not showing at the start, abandonment or withdrawal for any reason, the participation fee is not refundable. Also, the tax will not be refunded if the legislative changes will require the restriction of access to the event for certain categories of people, if the deadline for refunding the tax has been exceeded.
3.6. In case of cancellation of the competition due to force majeure or for reasons beyond the control of the organizer, the registration fee will not be refunded. The organizer will not bear in any way the adjacent costs (transport, accommodation, meals, etc.) of the participants.
ATTENTION! The number of places is limited to 6000 runners. When this limit is reached, registrations will be closed. In order to calculate the number of registered runners, ONLY the runners who have proven the payment of the participation fee are taken into account. If this limit is reached before March 16, 2025, online registrations will be closed and it will no longer be possible to pay the registration fee.
The limit on the number of participants may be modified by the Organizer in the context of any legislative changes that may occur along the way. Depending on the limit number of participants, the status of the event may be shifted by several days according to the event calendar displayed no later than 7 days before the event, or at the latest when taking over the race numbers for information on the race schedule.
3.7. Tax refund:
Participants can request a refund of the registration fee no later than February 28, 2025 (minus 50 lei). After this date, the fee is not refundable.
For the transfer of the registration to another person by February 28 at the latest.
For the transfer between races until February 29 at the latest.
After March 1st, no changes can be made to the list of participants.
4. RUNNER’S KIT
The kit cannot be sold and is not the property of the registrants. Registration in the competition ensures the reservation of a kit that is physically handed out only to the participant in the competition.

- T-shirt (the size of the t-shirt will be chosen by each participant at the time of registration. Depending on the manufacturer of the t-shirt, the dimensions may vary. Also, given the fact that registrations close after placing the order for the competition t-shirts, the organizer does not guarantee that the size of the t-shirt in the kit corresponds to the one chosen by the participant at the time of registration.)

5. CATEGORIES, RANKING AND PRIZES
5.1. Participants can register for the following tests:
- Marathon – 42.175 km
- Half marathon – 21.0975 km
- Cross 10km
- Relay marathon – 4×10.55km
- Popular Cross – 4 km
- Wheelchairs 10 km
5.2. Rankings are made for the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10 km and wheelchair events
In marathon and half marathon, the OPEN ranking will be made on the gross time (GUN TIME) and the ranking by age categories will be made on net time (calculated between the moment the runner passes under the starting gate and the one when he finishes the race).
5.3. The first 5 classified in the male and female categories of the marathon and half marathon races, the first 3 teams in the marathon relay race (female, male, mixed), the first 3 competitors in the male and female categories of the 10 km cross race, are awarded.
5.4. The first 3 winners (boys and girls) in each age category of the Family Race are awarded.
5.5. The first 3 in each age category, male and female (<34 years, 35-44 years, 45-54 years, 55-64 years, +65 years) are awarded in the marathon, half marathon and 10 km cross-country race.
5.6. In establishing the ranking in the age categories, the date of birth of the contestant is taken into account.
5.7. The Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon 2025 awards are:

The amount of money awarded as prizes are gross, from which the related commissions are withheld according to the legislation in force.
5.8. All participants who cross the finish line in the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay 4×10.55 km, 10 km cross, 4 km cross and Family cross will be awarded a medal.
5.10. PLEASE NOTE!
The validation of the ranking will be done in 2 weeks from the end of the event, after the resolution of appeals and cases of force majeure. The cash prizes are paid exclusively by bank transfer to the holder's account until May 6, 2025 from the club's account, during which time any appeals will be resolved.
6. COMPETITION PROCEDURES
6.1. BIB number
The BIB number must be attached to the front of the shirt and must be visible throughout the competition. In case of abandonment, the number must be handed over to the checkpoint where the withdrawal from the competition is announced.
6.2 Timing chip
The timing chip is fixed on the race number (glued on the back of the number) and is worn fastened with safety pins, together with the race number, on the shirt, in the front, preferably in the abdomen area, not covered by other equipment. The participants in the relay will hand over the chip to their teammate, at each relay exchange.
6.3 Wheelchairs 10 km
In the 10 KM race dedicated to wheelchair users, only people who move in manual wheelchairs and who are self-propelled can participate. Athletes who use other types of mobility equipment (e.g. hand bike, electric assistive equipment, etc.) will not enter the official ranking. When picking up the competition kit, people in wheelchairs will present a copy of their identity document and a copy of their disability certificate. The start of the 10 KM race for people in wheelchairs will take place 20 minutes earlier than the start of the official 10 km race for people without disabilities.
6.4. Family Race
During the Family Race, the child will run, throughout the route, accompanied by an adult. It is mandatory that when crossing the finish line the team members (child + adult) are next to each other. Otherwise, the team is disqualified. Please keep this in mind!
6.5. The start
The start will be given on the date and time set by the organizer and announced on the competition website. The places of the starting areas will be published on the official page of the event.

6.6. Withdrawal from the competition/Abandonment
Withdrawal from the competition for reasons other than accident can only be made at the checkpoints on the route or in the start/finish area. The competitor who can no longer or no longer wants to continue the race has the obligation to go to the nearest control point or to the start/finish point, where he will hand in the BIB number and will be considered withdrawn.
Competitors who move slower have the obligation to be careful to make way for those who come from behind, those who want and can overtake them.
The organizer may prohibit the start or continuation of the race for any participant if he is drunk or under the influence of hallucinogenic substances, if he presents a state of weakness or physical or mental exhaustion.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
It is strictly forbidden to throw waste of any kind, in any place on the route, except for the dedicated ones or at the control points.
Failure to comply with this rule results in the disqualification of the contestant.
8. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
The following equipment is mandatory for each participant who will be present at the start: running shoes, sports appareil (pants/skirt/leggings, running t-shirt/tank top), race number (provided by the organizer).
9. COMPLAINTS / APPEALS
Complaints and appeals must be submitted in writing to the competition committee within 1 hour from the official closing of the race.
10. MODIFICATION OF THE ROUTE. OTHER DECISIONS REGARDING THE CONDUCT OF THE CONTEST
10.1. The organizer may modify the route at any time or may cancel/stop the competition if it cannot be held safely.
10.2. Any decision will be taken by the competition committee or the competition director.
10.3. The Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the information displayed on the website, the regulations or the program, if any legislative changes require it. These changes will be brought to the attention of the participants at least 7 days before the competition, in the case of the information displayed on the competition website, or at the latest when taking over the competition numbers for information on the race program.
10.4. The applicable regulation is the one in force on the date of the event. Each participant is obliged to check and comply with the content of the Regulation in force on the date of participation in the event.
